  • "The Kiln offers cosy, clean and compact accommodation and is tucked away in a quiet and beautiful location."

    We had a lovely stay and found it the perfect base for discovering Suffolk. There is lots to do and see and Southwold was an easy drive. The decoration captured the warm country charm whilst being modern and very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with high quality furnishings and cookware. The owners were friendly and welcomed us on our arrival. We had a lovely stay and would recommend The Kiln as a calm and warm retreat for a getaway into Suffolk.

  • "The Kiln is very easy to find from the Harleston direction, but be prepared for the very narrow entrance onto the gravelled courtyard and dedicated parking space."

    There is a convex mirror across the road to aid driving out. The Kiln is quite compact, but it was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The kitchen has a fridge, a gas hob with electric oven plus a dishwasher . The central heating worked well and the king-sized bed was very comfortable indeed. One major advantage to us as owners of a dog was the enclosed patio area. The WiFi was effective, but note that mobile phone reception in the area is poor- some local attractions, like the Camel Park Oasis (well worth a visit) advise to bring cash as card machines are slow or unreliable. About 10 minutes away is Harleston which has Fish & Chips, Chinese and Indian take-aways plus food stores. If planning to visit the (lovely) coast, note that there are currently very extensive roadworks and 30mph speed limits towards the Sizewell C site, although all our dogs have loved Sizewell Beach, so that is still a good place to get them off the lead. The Kiln is definitely a nice place to stay.

  • "Very pleased with the break, met the owners who were very friendly, the bed was extremely comfortable, I wanted to steal the mattress but it would not fit in our car, the crockery, cutlery, and furnishings were quality items and obviously not some second hand jumble sale stuff."

    All in all a most enjoyable stay. A small point I would like add is a grab handle in the shower just in case of a slip, especially, for, the shall we say, the more mature clients.

  • "Really needed a restful break after a challenging year, so pleased we booked The Kiln."

    From the day we arrived and were welcomed by Harry & Pam, to the day we left, enjoyed every moment -- ( hope the well turns out as they want it too) quiet, peaceful, everything you needed to remain self sufficient, but close enough to Harleston for takeaway or places to eat and Beccles for main shops if you needed them ----- great comfortable bed, brilliant shower, clean, comfortable and most of all, quiet ---- loved it. Plenty for us to see in the area , if we wanted to, so all in all a great choice of a place to stay. ( loved the Waveney River trip from Lowestoft - Norfolk & Suffolk aviation museum well worth a visit as well) 400 years of history in the main house, was nice to read and know how the place has evolved over the years, really interesting. Great stay - highly recommend if you need to chill out.

  • "The Kiln was cosy, clean and well equipped."

    For us, the comfortable bed and roomy shower were the standout features. We loved the hamlet / rural location, as did our little dog, lots of lovely walks. With so much more to explore in the area we would not hesitate to return. Thankyou to our hosts Pam and Harry who were very helpful and welcoming.

  • "We had a wonderful stay, the hosts Pam & Harry were excellent."

    The Kiln was really clean, well equipped kitchen with everything at hand. The bed was lovely and comfortable. The garden was a pleasure to walk round with the dog & the patio was secure for him. Pam helped when our dog got injured and booked us in with her vet. A great base for seeing the area. The nearest shops & dog friendly pubs are a drive away in Harleston. We hope to be back soon.
