Port Eynon Beach (around 6 miles) provides a gentler seaside setting, perfect for relaxed coastal days. For walkers and nature lovers, the Wales Coast Path runs through the peninsula, offering miles of clifftop routes with panoramic sea views, while quieter inland paths and country lanes wind through farmland and salt marsh, revealing a softer, more peaceful side of Gower. History and heritage are woven into the landscape too. Just 3 miles from Gower Retreats, Weobley Castle sits on the edge of the Loughor Estuary, its evocative ruins overlooking wide salt marshes and tidal waters. The setting is especially atmospheric at sunrise and sunset, making it an ideal spot for a gentle walk close to home. Further afield, Oystermouth Castle offers insight into the area’s medieval past. Nearby Mumbles is perfect for unhurried seaside strolls, boutique shopping and views across Swansea Bay, while the city of Swansea provides cultural attractions including the marina, the National Waterfront Museum and Plantasia Tropical Zoo. Whether your days are spent exploring world-famous beaches, walking dramatic coastal paths, discovering quiet historic sites, or returning early to enjoy the spa and countryside surroundings, Gower Retreats offers a rare balance of adventure, tranquillity and rustic luxury. Here, life slows down. The landscape leads. And every stay becomes an opportunity to experience one of South Wales’ most beautiful and unspoilt regions at your own pace.
