  • "We enjoyed our stay very much although it wasn’t without issues."

    The location is very good with easy reach to Three Cliffs Bay and Rhossili. I was impressed by the layout of the grounds and property on arrival. Whilst it’s not fenced off, there was a lovely space for my dog to stretch his legs, the onsite restaurant looked really lovely and whilst parking was busy but consistently available. The upside down layout worked really well particularly as we used the hot tub every evening. On the other hand, we did need windows upstairs as it became very warm. Better that than a restless night sleep though. Beds were comfy and there was plenty of space throughout. The Juliette balcony was a nice tough, as was the patio where we ate dinner and relaxed in the evening. The space outside is a nice size with a large table and parasol of great quality. Whilst the kitchenette is limited it was perfect for our 3 night stay. It wouldn’t have been enough for a week. The three bathrooms came in very handy and were of a good size. We struggled with WiFi for the first night. There is a WIFI option available without password and I assumed this was the correct one to use given the TVs were connected to it however, it barely worked. This was resolved the following day when we asked at reception and connected the TVs to the correct WIFI option. There was a menu for the restaurant placed in the accommodation but no instructions for the hot tub, WiFi or other information that can help guests feel at home. Whilst the property looked visibly clean there were some cobwebs on the windows upstairs and drainage issues in the sink in one of the bedrooms. The hot tub was clean enough but I noticed some marks around the headrests after getting in. For the money I’d expect better attention to detail here. We lost water during the second night due to a burst water pipe locally and whilst this wasn’t the fault of the property we received a note through the door that morning and 2 small bottles of water about 11 am with no further communication. Fortunately it was rectified that evening. Again, not their fault but I would have liked regular updates for reassurance and more bottled water given there were 4 of us and it was hot. I want to reiterate that we had a really lovely stay and each of the issues mentioned were minor on their own. We didn’t raise them given this, meaning the staff didn’t have the opportunity to resolve them. With a few tweaks to service this place could be really lovely - guest information (including WiFi details), a notch up on cleaning and supporting guests when unfortunate events occur with extra thought. A little detail goes a long way. In the meantime, I’m not sure I would return or recommend to a friend.

  • "Lovely cottage."

    Good location. Hot tub very welcome. Bit disappointed as felt it lacked the personal touch. No welcome pack - a pint of milk would have been appreciated. No information about things to see and places to go or about local facilities such as restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies etc. No housekeeping instructions - we had no idea about recycling or what was required on leaving (were beds to be stripped etc). No info about using hot tub or WiFi code. Apart from small bottle of washing up liquid no cleaning products and we do like to leave our accommodation clean so we purchased our own. Overall we did enjoy a relaxing break at Oak Tree Cottage and may return at some time

  • "We had a lovely stay at Oak tree cottage."

    It was spacious for 4 adults and 1 dog. The staff on site were very helpful and approachable. We didn't have the opportunity to try the rustic spa facilities as we were busy exploring the gower during the daytime, but it looked very nice. I would return.

  • "Lovely, modern cottage as part of wider farm site."

    Clean, comfortable and well equipped throughout the whole place. Loved the luxury of a hot tub and it was very handy to have a restaurant and bar onsite! For dog owners, the garden area was not fully enclosed but plenty of space to walk on lead around the rest of the site. Only suggestion would be to provide a guest information book (e.g. derails of underfloor heating, turning on hot water, with restaurant, spa and local information). Everyone we spoke to was really friendly - thank you!
