  • "Beautiful cottage situated in a great location."

The cottage is warm and cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the added little courtyard to the rear is perfect when the sun is shining. A real sun trap and very quiet. The bedroom was lovely and the bed was so comfortable as were the pillows, the shower was great, very powerful. The owner met us on arrival and was very helpful and nothing was a bother to her. She gave a lovely welcome pack which was really nice. The weatsheaf pub a short stroll away is welcoming and friendly but don't sell food. A short bus ride took us into Barnard Castle for the day. Lots of places to eat and drink there. There is a spar shop in the village which sells everything you need.

So glad that you enjoyed your stay. Hope we see you again soon Property Owner

  • "A lovely, old, welcoming cottage, excellent facilities."

Property owner Jo was friendly & easily contacted if necessary. Told us of a brilliant walk for dogs that was only a several minute walk away, our dogs loved it. The bedroom window projects out from the building giving it a unique look, in the bedroom there 's a very comfortable window seat ideal for watching the world go by or reading. Parking is at a bit of a premium, in the information pack there is a guide as to where best to park. Highly recommend this property and we'll certainly look to book again.

Very happy that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon Property Owner

About the location

STAINDROP

Barnard Castle 5 miles; Durham 20 miles.

The pretty Teesdale village of Staindrop has always been closely associated with the fortunes of nearby Raby Castle and its owners. The Castle (open to the public) is one of the most grand in England. Enlarged and beautified over the centuries, the medieval heart remains and a walled garden and 200 acre deer park add to the splendour. Staindrop has many interesting shops, pubs and cafes set round its long village green. The popular market town of Barnard Castle is 5 miles away, with its castle, the Bowes Museum, plus of course its wide range of shops and tea rooms. Walkers will enjoy the many walks around Teesdale.
