  • "Fantastic property & great location."

Our third stay in Horace Mills and we’ve already booked to go back next year.

  • "Just back from a great stay at Horace Mills!"

Apartment is of a very high spec and spotlessly clean. Lots of kitchen equipment if needed (we didn’t eat in apart from breakfast and snacks) The only thing that could make the apartment better for us would have been a king size bed but we coped for 4 nights! Great to be able to use the train - our cars never moved! Shame there is no food at either pub at the mo but we got out for a drink and the village shop is very well stocked and very friendly!

  • "Television in bedroom would have been good."

We had a fantastic time, the view from the lounge window was brilliant. The location of the railway was so convenient that we used it nearly every day, allowing hubby to have a drink whilst we were out. It also meant we didn’t have to negotiate the parking on too many occasions. It is a bit awkward, definitely have to reverse in. We would highly recommend staying at Horace Mills.

  • "This is a beautiful property, decorated and equipped to a very high standard."

Cleanliness was excellent. Views from balcony fantastic. Just one small comment - the duvets were unbelievably thick. Could you offer a lighter duvet? Definitely would recommend though and good location for visiting surrounding area.

  • "Lovely apartment, but parking extremely bad with h beams and block walls ."

It’s a corner location and I scraped my small suv twice over two weeks. The repair cost is more than the rental. Does not help that the parking bay opposite is occupied by an oversized sailing dinghy. Will be taking advice.

We are sorry to hear about your car, we have added our recommendation to reverse park in the bay as this is much easier. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous apartment & O that view!"

Want to re-book for spring/summer so we can sit out on the balcony. For such a small village Cononley was a delight, very friendly locals & train on the doorstep for trips into Skipton, Leeds & beyond. Brilliant all round.

Thank You for your wonderful feedback. We are so happy you had a great time and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Property Owner

  • "Fabulous, clean comfortable apartment , very well equipped."

Close to station and easy train travel locally. Our issue was access to the alloted parking space, it was quite tight , and there was no optional parking anywhere nearby. Otherwise a great stay in a lovely village.

The train station is 2 minutes from the apartment, so you can park the car up for the week and explore Yorkshire by rail.

Great views, Rail transportation on the doorstep and local pubs. Great base to explore the dales.

  • "Stunning apartment."

Weather and petrol shortage curtailed our enjoyment of the area but well worth the visit. However, only one pub was open for food in the village and that was just for 4 nights. Worth knowing but Skipton nearby has some very good eating places.

  • "Absolutely loved the flat."

Impeccably clean and beautiful. Lovely views out the windows, great location. We were not in the flat much as we were out hiking most days but it was a wonderful place to return home to. Strangely the post code didn't get us there in google maps but we had no trouble finding it. Easy to get keys and enter. Parking space was very tight for larger cars. We managed fine due mostly to the empty spaces across from the assigned spot. If those were filled, not sure we should have been able to get our car in! I gather from looking at the outdoor space there may be restrictions on parking there, but if there is recommended street parking I would suggest advising future renters in case they have a large car. Many thanks for the wonderful stay. It was fantastic.

  • "The apartment is wonderful with every mod con."

There is a lift from the car park up to the 3rd floor which we hadn't read about. So it was most welcome. There were also t-towels, an over glove, condiments and sauces, tea and coffee and washing up equipment left for our use. Also I was glad to find a hairdryer. The owners had left a vase of fresh flowers and a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. I have read on various sites that Skipton is between four and ten miles away, but it is definitely only four. The development is next to the railway station (but trains aren't heard) and we went into Skipton on the train one evening. All very straight forward. There is a small village shop in Cononley and two pubs, one of which is only two minutes walk from the apartment. If we went back to the area we would certainly stay at Horace Mills again. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We hope to go back again as one week wasn’t long enough to explore everywhere we wanted to go. Weather was also very warm. We will definitely be back. Thank you Tracy and Simon for the bottle of wine and fresh flowers, such a lovely touch.

The attractive village of Cononley lies in Airedale, four miles south of Skipton. The village's 17th Century heritage is still visible in some of the buildings, with an even greater number remaining from the villages heyday as a 19th Century centre for hand loom weaving and lead mining. There are two pubs and a mainline railway station with links to Leeds, Skipton and the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway line. Nearby Skipton, known as "The Gateway to the Dales", has an ancient castle, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. Enjoy a canal trip on a traditional barge or visit Embsay Steam Railway or the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
