"Location is great for walks and access to Keighley and Bronte country."
The property is tucked away on a lane that is quant and rural - the road is fairly busy most of the day but quiet at nights.
The property is dated and the pictures on the app look enhanced or must be quite old.
Positives - the wifi is great, the heating is decent on cold nights and the main bedroom is spacious with wardrobes.
Negatives - really dated furniture, cleanliness was poor with musty smell throughout (air fresheners provided under the sink and plug-ins). The hoover was blocked with dirt and not picking up, so we tried to unblock and clear most of the dirt by hand.
Did not spoil our stay as we were walking lots and did a deep clean on arrival but could have been better with a bit of attention to cleanliness.

"Nice cottage and ideal for exploring."
The cottage was clean and fresh. Could have benefited from a dishwasher as the drainer is very small and water splashes all over the floor and cupboard below. There’s no instructions for the cooker either which would have been useful. It looks exactly like the pictures. Cottage is lovely and warm and there was a fire made up in the log burner.

"Good location for our needs-accomodation was fine though quite basic and not enough info on working of tv,oven, etc."
Not as dog friendly as suggested as small outside space was not self contained.we had to take our dogs onto grass verge near Busy road for morning and evening tiddles!Very comfy beds and overall we enjoyed our stay.6

"Lovely little cottage but the two settees are a little worn although comfortable to sit on."
However, the dining facilities need to be attended to. The table is circular and very high with 4 swivel chairs to sit on. Extremely difficult to get on as they move while trying to get seated. Perhaps a drop leaf table would be a better option. There's plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses in the kitchen. The bedroom was lovely
and the bed was extremely comfortable

"The sofas are quite low and for an elderly lady who suffers with a bad back was quite uncomfortable."
.we had to put the seat cushion from one of the sofas as a back cushion so my Mum could sit more upright...the bin in the kitchen was tiny..more for use in the bathroom..the beds were extremely comfortable and the central heating was warm and cosy heating the house up quite quickly..lovely cottage and I relieved a txt from the owner asking if we had arrived safely and if all was OK etc .and then a txt at the end of the holiday thanking us for visiting..would recommend this cottage .

"Might be alright in the summer but would not advise going in the cooler months."
When we got there it was warmer outside than inside. Stayed one night then left and went home to be warm. it was hot upstairs in the morning but still cold downstairs. Very little information regarding what to do with the heating or appliances. Big tv but very dated and not a smart tv either.
This property has a very good boiler and heating system. The control is in the lounge and is a standard control unit. Please ask if there are any issues, as we want you to have a lovely holiday with us.

"Lovely little cottage but not Spotless as claimed …let down by whoever maintains/cleans
Lovely little cottage but a little tired, we arrived in March for a 12 night break."
Cottage was freezing when we arrived so could have been timed to come on for before we arrived. It was not spotless as claimed; it smelt musty, cobwebs on ceiling and in windows. In under bed in second bedroom was an old chocolate and bits that had not been vacuumed the cupboards in that room also had hardbacks / woodlice in the bottom of it. The cooker lid was covered in grease as was one of the dishes in the oven. There was no instructions on how to use the heating thermostat. The bathroom could have been cleaner the two cups in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. The fridge was clean but smelled of sour milk. Other than that the sheets and towels were clean, beds comfortable . Ideal spot for walkers and visiting lovely villages, buses very regular if you don't want to drive.
Thank you for your feedback. The property was cleaned before your arrival, but if you had reported these issues upon arrival we would have had it re-done for you. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the locality.

"On arrival the heating was not on and the house was 5 degrees."
It took us ages to get warm. Spotless it is not as cobwebs everywhere. The cooker gas rings would not stay lit. Toilet seat loose. Went to hoover in the week and it was totally clogged up with dog hairs. Left the owner the bag full of hairs as proof. Had a washing machine but would have thought it would have had an iron and board. We did leave early. We have used Sykes on numerous occasions and this is the first time we’ve had to give negative feedback.
The boiler in the house is very good and it does not take a long time to warm up. The cooker has no issues with the rings staying lit. The toilet seat has been tightened. The hoover has been cleaned, but is really for use by the cleaning team. Nowhere does it state that there is an ironing board and iron, but that is something that we can look into getting. Thank you for the suggestion. It is a shame that you didn't report any issues as we would have done our best to sort them out quickly for you.

"The cottage was lovely."
Central heating and log burner very efficient, very cosy. The only disappointment was the fact that it did not mention how close it was to a busy road and the garden area was not really appropriate for our large dog.. He was nervous of the road and would not want to go out at times. We had to have the windows closed due to traffic noise. Night time it was relatively quiet. We live in a quiet village so it took some getting used to. We had great support and help from Mark.

"8 Lune Street is not as described - certainly not dog friendly - there is no back door, no back garden - you have to keep the front door closed as a neighbour has a cat and complains about dogs."
There is mention of a dishwasher in the listing - not their.
The property was dirty, cobwebs in the lounge, kitchen cupboards dirty, toilet seat was loose.
No mention of the busy road outside - horrendous - we stayed one night and left.
Please read all other reviews for a true appraisal of how lovely the cottage is. There are no other concerns raised and there is a public bridleway close by. What pets other neighbours have is out of my control, but the cat has not been an issue for others. I cannot find mention of a dishwasher- and there isn't one. The property was cleaned by a very good / experienced cleaner, but if cobwebs had been made, or indeed if the toilet seat had come loose, a simple text would have seen one of us there straight away to rectify. The road is not an issue either.

Owners were brilliant even brought us a clothes airer to dry our washing on. It's a cute little cottage but perfectly formed!
The road was noisy at night, but we did have the windows open as it was very warm.

"We stayed at 8 Lune Street in May this year."
We found the description to be fairly accurate but the description of the garden wasn't quite correct. We stayed with my dog and were hoping for a safe and enclosed garden space attached to the cottage but this so. The garden is separate and not secure although it is a nice space the dog couldn't be off the lead around the house. There is however a bridleway very close at the end of the layby in front of the cottage. The cottage itself was lovely, the fire fabulous and warm, and the cottage clean and comfortable. There is a supplier of logs just up the road from the cottage too to restock the fire. The road outside can be noisy at peak times but with windows closed it wasn't too bad. We feel the tv could maybe be more beneficial being connected to the internet as it is just basic channels. We got around this using a laptop and HTMI lead connected to the wifi which had a good signal. This worked fine to watch internet tv. There is a resident pussy cat 2 doors down so if anyone has a dogs particularly adverse to cats please be aware. Overall, we had a fabulous stay at this cottage and wouldn't hesitate to rebook. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cottage close to lovely walks but still within easy reach of the cities etc. Many thanks to the owner of this cottage for a great stay.

Clean, comfortable, got a nice view, quiet and nice owner that keeps in touch with you if you need anything. This cottage is not far from the Main Street where you can go for shopping or dinning. We enjoyed staying here, first we booked only 7 nights but later we extended for another 7 nights. And we will go back again soon...

"Beautiful property in a stunning area."
Very well equipped with lovely decor. Very efficient heating - lovely and toasty. Unfortunately the TV had no signal. There was a Firestick control but no Firestick so perhaps that had been left by a previous guest? Only one tea towel and no hand towel in the kitchen so we actually bought more during our stay.

"Lovely, old, quaint cottage, which was warm and welcoming upon our arrival."
It was clean and very well equipped. It has a wood burning stove which we didn’t need to use as the central heating worked very well. It was nice and cosy.
The cottage is well located to reach other beautiful towns and villages but my only criticism is that it is near to a busy road and was a little noisy at night.
This however didn’t cause any problems.
Would certainly recommend any stay.
