  • "Very clean, comfy bed."

Would have been nice to have a couple of coffee sachets and a few tea bags but otherwise excellent. Really appreciated the washing machine sachets. Great location and lovely views. The Coffee Pot in Salen was also a great find.

  • "We had a lovely week in this comfortable property despite the very wet weather."

The property has lovely views of the sea, river and countryside. When approaching the property from Craignure in the dark the house sign is difficult to see. A problem with the television was dealt with promptly by the owner and a message regarding a loose poor fitted toilet seat was left in the property which I am sure will be satisfactory sorted.

  • "We have loved our second visit to this beautiful property."

It is a real home from home in our favourite place. Thankyou.

  • "This cottage had a number of firsts for us."

First time we never met with owners or representatives. First time there was no welcome pack. First time there was no visitors book. First time we said we would never return. The whole property was in need of a thorough clean. The patio door was permanently locked and no key available making access to the garden difficult especially as I'm temporarily using crutch. The king size bed was only a double. The WiFi was very patchy. The TV belonged on the Arc. DVD Player provided but no DVD's. Altogether a thoroughly underwhelming place to stay.

  • "Our second visit."

We were very comfortable here, as last year. Little Glenforsa is very well appointed - high quality bedding and furnishing. Warm and cosy. Beautiful grounds. Friendly owner.

  • "The property was spacious & comfortable with excellent views up the Sound of Mull."

The grounds provided an opportunity to explore the river, falls & coastline. The accommodate was very well equipped & furnished up to a high level with everything required for a great holiday.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Glenforsa and due to the weather we were able to be out and about every day."

The property was adequate although there are some signs of wear (staining on the bathroom grout for example). We did have problems with the tv- it wasn’t easy to use although when we contacted the house keeper we were quickly put in touch with the owner who was helpful. Having the fridge in the corridor near the front door rather than in the kitchen area made cooking more difficult than it needed to be. The grounds of Glenforsa are wonderful and we did enjoy the outdoor areas every day

  • "A lovely cottage which was clean and very comfortable."

It had lovely views across the Sound of Mull. The cottage was well situated to visit different parts of the island and the grounds of the cottage were well kept and had access to rocky beach. No turn in the roads was a disappointment for the views- such a lovely , tranquil place to visit.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Glenforsa."

The cottage was clean, comfortable and had lovely views. The huge garden and bridge over the river to access the incredibly quiet beach on the Sound of Mull was particularly enjoyed by all the family, including the dog. A good location for exploring the island.

  • "We had a great week in the property with both exceptionally good weather and typical west coast weather."

A couple of things I'd like to point out. The sofa and accompanying chair were very uncomfortable and perhaps should be looked at. When we arrived at the property, the outside door area could have been swept; it wasn't a welcoming site. Apart from that everything was great - especially the comfortable mattress.

  • "We loved our stay at Little Glenforsa."

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. But we were particularly delighted with the grounds - the fact that you could walk to the sea shore past a river with fast and slow flowing sections, including a little waterfall, there were extensive lawns, trees and shrubs, and it was just wonderful. We saw 63 species of birds during our stay on Mull which wasn't bad for a pair of amateurs. If you ever have difficulty letting it, the surrounding area would be a draw for bird and nature watchers

  • "This little cottage was perfect for our autumn stay."

The house is warm and clean and perfectly located for touring around Mull. The beds were comfortable with high quality linen and towels. There are lovely short walks around the house and the view is forever changing. Very odd having the fridge and microwave in the hall. It would be much better to have the washing machine out there and appliances in the kitchen.

  • "We had an absolutely superb time at Little Glen Forsa."

The cottage was perfect and really comfortable. The garden, river and beach were amazing and watching wildlife was great. The island was amazing and will certainly be back. Thanks so much.

  • "The property is set in lovely garden surroundings with a great view across the Sound of Mull to Morvern."

Its location in Salen makes it good for touring around the island. The cottage was well equipped and warm however I felt that the living/kitchen/dining space was more suited to two persons rather than 4. I would respectfully also suggest that the bathroom would benefit from a refit.

  • "We have just returned from a wonderful week at Little Glenforsa."

The house is in an excellent central location and is an ideal base for exploring all of Mull's attractions. The house is spotlessly clean and comfortable and the grounds are amazing. We frequently saw sea eagles flying overhead. We met the owner who was charming and the housekeeper, Carla, could not have been more helpful. We think it would hard to find a more perfect position for a holiday home on Mull and we definitely hope to return. We have stayed at quite a few LHH properties but this has been our favourite so far.

Built in a fascinating V shape that complements the landscape, the pink exterior of Little Glenforsa stands out from the surrounding woodland with a generous garden and off-road parking for guests.

Entering this wonderful property, you will be simply blown away by the beautiful space waiting for you to settle in and unpack, sporting an airy feel due to the plentiful windows drawing in the soft natural light of this unspoilt island, painted and outfitted in white furniture to give a feel of opulence throughout the open-plan living area, with the addition of local artwork and rugs to add a quirky pop of colour; for example the tasteful blue bottles adding a splash of the sea to this coastal property.

A wooden floor runs throughout the living area, where a sitting area offers a Highland cottage feel with an electric flame look stove, and a TV ready so that you will never miss your favourite shows, and when you get ready to start your day, make a hearty breakfast from local produce in the fully-fitted kitchen, serving it on the wooden dining table with a view of a stunning garden space.

Freshen up in the shower or have a relaxing soak in the bath to shake the sand from your skin, before sinking into the cosy and spacious bedrooms, noting that both are fitted with storage and homely décor, including a king-size with the most wonderful corner window and scattering of photographs and paintings and a twin with a soft blue theme throughout, making this the perfect property for a family getaway.

Outside, a delightful sitting area waits for an evening with a hot chocolate as you and the family recline after a long day of exploring, or why not picnic on the expansive grass area?

There is also the option of relaxing in the summer house which overlooks a calming waterscape, bringing the perfect feel of a tranquil countryside escape.

Within the local area, there is no shortage of activities to fill your days, including a variety of walks, for example a trail beginning at Ben More, leading to Mull's only Munro, which offers breath-taking views from the summit, cycle tracks and local sandy beaches which are great for watersports and walks with the family, including Calgary Bay.

An easy journey from the property you will find the beautiful and well-known town of Tobermory, where you can enjoy a stroll along the colourful harbour before heading into one of the local pubs, restaurants, or cafes that stock local seafood fresh from the surrounding ocean.

Head over to the chocolate factory and whisky distillery, where tours and tasters are on offer.

For lovers of history, there is a huge number of historical sites, including Pennygown Chapel, Salens Ships and Tobermory lighthouse as well as a wide variety of museums including MacQuarie’s Mausoleum, Ross and Mull Historical Centre and The Old Byre Heritage Centre, where you can indulge in the rich culture and heritage of the island.

With such a beautiful landscape, rich history and wonderful local produce, you will make your holiday one to remember with a stay at Little Glenforsa.

The island can be reached by ferry from Oban to Craignure, Lochaline to Fishnish or Kilchoan to Tobermory.
