"Lovely stay in No 31 Valley Lodge Honicombe Park."
Very quiet, nice park, blessed with lovely October weather. Only negatives were minor maintainance and age related issues, such as, Hottub Jets, Kitchen kickboard and blinds, bathrooms showing their age, and uncomfortable single beds. Main Bedroom was perfect.
Outside balcony was recently re done and lovely. Furniture comfortable in both outside areas making it a nice place to sit. Could have done with a small gate by the hottub to stop dog escaping, but we blocked it off during the stay.
These are all minor issues in the big scheme, and we found it excellent value for money and wouldnt hesitate to stay again at the price point we paid for our week.

"We have stayed at honicombe before and loved the location and the access to the pool and gym."
We came again and this time went for a property with a hot tub and it was amazing to relax in the evening after long walks around Dartmoor and the coast.
The property itself is in need of some tlc. There are marks on the walls, paint chips, the carpet is a bit grubby and the cupboard doors of the kitchen doesn't fit correctly and the fridge was broken (missing a shelf in the door). But it had most things we needed and was cozy, the beds were comfortable, the sheets clean, plenty of storage space and the balcony had recently been repaired and was nice to eat breakfast on int he morning.
There wasn't a welcome pack which was a shame, luckily we could get the WiFi code from the back of the routa and there also wasn't a hair dryer which, while a small thing, is one of those things that is usually supplied and wasn't. There was also a drip coming off the gutters right above the front door which meant a wet head when entering and exiting. But apart from those minor things, I and my dad enjoyed our holiday and will definitely come again

"Overall, we were disappointed with our stay."
The property feels tired, neglected and in need of some investment and care. It’s a real shame because it has so much potential and could be a fantastic holiday home in such a lovely location.
Our biggest concern was the balcony. The handrail felt unstable due to rotten timber, and several of the decking boards also appeared to be deteriorating. We did not feel it was safe to use, particularly for families with children, and reported this during our stay.
We hope the owners take these comments seriously because, with some maintenance and attention, this property could provide a much better experience for future guests.

"Firstly we would like to thank the staff that worked on site, all very friendly and polite."
The shop had all the essentials, things you might have forgotten to take. The pub food was lovely.
Other than the pub we didn't use the facilities on site as we was out seeing most of the days. The outdoor pool was small but clean with some loungers around it. Had a basic game room.
Our room, valley lodge 31 was comfortable. The rooms was clean. There were a few bits I picked up on which I was disappointed with but nothing for me to complain about. Firstly the area outside where the hot tub was had old leaves scattered around, these should have been swept up. There were water marks on the window, there were large gaps in the fence where our dog managed to get out, when in the hot tub it wasn't very private as people walking up and down could see straight in. It would have been nice if there were some lights intwined in the fence for on a night time. It was the same upstairs in the outdoor area, leaves and cobwebs.
The bathroom shower had grime all around the pipe.
The footpath used to walk up to the property was full of weeds, we noticed alot of this around the site.
The room had everything you would need, iron, ironing board, clothes horse, hangers, drawers.
Don't want this review be read as a criticism as it's not and we certainly would not say we didn't enjoy our stay, it's just feedback that we hope would make someone else's stay perfect.
Thank you.

"The cottage was in a great location."
Was well equipped with everything we needed. It was clean. For the price we paid I think some other reviews were a bit mean. Will definitely return.

"The property was dirty, big black cobwebs around some of the windows, dining table had old food in the joints, chairs around the table covered in crumbs."
Downstairs in the bedrooms and bathrooms stunk. Damp and very musky smell all over. The kitchen was falling apart, the settees and cushions were filthy, looked like the carpets hadn't been hoovered. Ashtray by the hot tub was full of old cigarette buts. The whole place was in desperate need of a refurbishment.
When we complained we were told that it was like this because the owner had just lost his dad and his mind wasn't on the cabin, but the cleanliness was surely down to the management of the cleaning crew.
We left early. Because we couldn't put up with the damp and the stench.

"The holiday park is lovely and quiet."
The lodge needs some attention. The skirting board in the kitchen kept falling down, the bin in the kitchen is rusty and broken. There were no cleaning products at all, not even a bleach for the bathroom, or an anti-bac spray for general cleanliness. No tupperware/foil for storing food you'd opened. No spare bin bag and only two toilet rolls. In my personal opinion, these are always provided by a holiday let. One of the chairs by the hot tub had bent legs so you didn't dare sit on it. The sealant of the bath, behind the door, looks terrible and messy. The fridge had no bottle storage as this had been removed, the freezer barely opened and one of the cupboard doors was broken (near the dishwasher). The taps in the kitchen made a droning sound after use.
For the money you're charging per week, you need to improve these things or you'll get more complaints.
On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable.
