  • "The lodge is lovely with a fab view."

However there are no personal instructions from the owner. The WiFi signal was appalling and connecting the to very frustrating. No extra loo roll. Quilt cover too big for the quilt. Nothing to say what to do with rubbish or recycling. No instructions regarding leaving the property. No visitors book for comments etc. this was a little disappointing as we use Sykes Cottages all the time and this was not as good. It could be fab with a few tweaks and better WiFi etc

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are really pleased to hear you found the lodge lovely and enjoyed the fantastic view. We are sorry to hear that a few things fell short of your expectations. Your comments are genuinely helpful. We will be reviewing all of these points to make sure future guests have clearer information and a smoother experience. Thank you again for staying and for sharing your thoughts. We hope we’ll have the chance to welcome you back to a more polished experience in the future. Best wishes Rod & Julie Property Owner

  • "Really lovely accommodation!"

The view across Swanage is amazing and the lodge is light and airy. It is well equipped with everything we needed and had a huge comfortable bed and the sofas were incredible. I wanted to bring them home with me! We had a slight issue with the door locking but Terry was very helpful with immediate response to our call. The only downside is the long walk back up from the town/ beach. A great place to stay as a base for touring though. Hopefully we will be back!

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the accommodation and that the light, airy lodge and amazing view across Swanage made your stay special. It’s great to know you found everything well equipped and comfortable — the bed and sofas are definitely favourites with guests. We appreciate you mentioning the brief issue with the door, and I’m glad Terry was able to help straight away. The walk back up from the town can be a bit of a climb, but I’m pleased it still made a great base for exploring the area. Thank you again for your kind words. We would be very happy to welcome you back in the future. Best wishes Rod & Julie Property Owner

  • "Beautiful large Lodge with a view to die for."

Very spacious, clean. Biggest bed (2 singles pushed together, mind the gap!) Very soft and comfy. Lacked a few basics, no iron or ironing board, seeing as it has a huge utility room with a washing machine in. Could of done with a coat rack, hook in there as well, somewhere to hang your coats when you come in. No hairdryer as well. Normally find one in one of the drawers. Felt a bit soul less, no pictures on the walls, no nik knacks, vases , clocks, didn't have a homely feel, but that's just my opinion, not knocking it though, it was a beautiful Lodge and had a wonderful stay..

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so pleased you found the lodge spacious, beautifully clean, and enjoyed the stunning view. I appreciate your comments about the missing items all helpful suggestions, and I’ll review these to improve future stays. Thank you also for your thoughts on the décor; I understand how small touches can make a place feel more homely. I’m glad you still had a wonderful stay and found the lodge beautiful. Your feedback is truly appreciated. Best Wishes Ros & Julie Property Owner

Spacious, warm and comfortable. Information books on the local area and surrounding area were plentiful. It’s worth staying just for the view ! We would not hesitate to book this lodge again. Special mention to the owner who was so kind as to return a jacket that was left behind. Thank you

  • "We booked this break last minute, the lodge was lovley and well equipped."

My only niggle was we would have liked a couple extra pillows. We took towels as it said they were provided but actually they were. l the ocation was great for us as we like to get out and explore the area. We managed to get to Bournemouth, Wareham, Dorchester, Sandbachs and Poole. We also stopped off at a few other places as well. The weather was good for a few days but then we have a storm very windy and raining, but it didnt spoil the day. We would certainly book it again.

I appreciate you mentioning the pillows and the towel information — that’s genuinely helpful, and I’ll make sure those points are reviewed so future guests have an even smoother stay. It’s great to hear the location worked well for you and that you were able to explore so many places, even with the stormy weather. I’m delighted you’d consider booking again. • "The lodge was lovely and views spectacular The things that were missing were the kitchen facilities and instructions couldn’t believe there was no grill pan,no china crockery only plastic plates of which there were only 4 and 4 dishes no serving dishes, mixing bowls, or a measuring jug,the frying pan was only an omelette pan there was 3 baking trays no roasting tin all in all it was very disappointing."

You could say it was very different eating Xmas roast on a plastic plate. We also found 2 boxes of way out of date cereals in the cupboard and the oven glass was very dirty.Other than that it is a lovely lodge just needs a bit more thought.

Good afternoon Mr Wayman Thank you for choosing to come to the beautiful town of Swanage and taking the time to write this review. We value the constructive feedback and we wish you a very Happy New Year. Rod & Julie Property Owner

  • "Very well equipped and clean chalet - gas cooker, dishwasher, kettle, TV."

Plenty of towels provided, nice clean bedding. Complimentary milk, tea, coffee etc was very welcoming and much appreciated. The chalet is on a row almost at the top of a steep drive up through the park, which gives it a great view over rooftops towards Ballard Down and the sea - but can be very breezy outside due to location. Slope rather than steps up to the door. Central heating kept it warm in November. We would certainly book again in the future!

Good evening, Mr Bosak Thank you so much, We really appreciate your kind words and are so glad you had a great experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards Rod & Julie Property Owner

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
