    "This is a lovely property, beautifully presented and clean with lots of unexpected touches."

    We know Swanage very well but this trip was our first experience of staying right in amongst the useful shops and close to the beach - so close I could walk back from my swim without even getting dressed. The owners had provided every conceivable measure to block out the noise, and a lovely quiet fan to counteract the heat from being at the top of the building with the windows closed. However, the noise was far worse than we imagined was possible in Swanage. There is a very popular bar across the road that opens directly onto the street so crowd noise and music were relentless from 10pm to midnight every night. Sadly this meant I never really relaxed.

Unfortunately as a listed building the windows cannot be replaced with double or triple glazed but I am looking at further measures such as solid wooden blinds. Hopefully this may further reduce noise. The bar mentioned is noisy Friday Saturday evenings but generally much quieter during the week and we are monitoring that it complies with licensing conditions. Regards Mark Property Owner

    "I have never before found a holiday let with such a good supply of everything needed even down to washing up sponge and washing up liquid there was even washing tabs for washing machine."

    We had a stress free holiday in a clean well stocked apartment we left a couple of board games to add to your supply of entertainment DVD s books ,maps,game sand puzzles we had wonderful weather but had it rained there was things there to use .

    "We had a lovely holiday in Swanage at The Yardarm."

    The apartment was vey clean and comfortable and the beach, restaurants and shops were on the doorstep. The garage was very small, however, and I just about managed to park our VW Golf in the garage and squeeze out! Luckily, we didn't need to use it at all as public transport was very good!! We would certainly stay at The Yardarm again, but perhaps we would come by train next time!

    "The flat was comfortable and reasonably well equipped (kitchen appliances and equipment)."

    Bathroom is attractively designed. There is a serviceable washing machine, but nowhere to hang washing. This is a practical option for a beach-based holiday. Whilst any visitor will be aware that a town-centre flat is unlikely to have easy parking, the garage advertised in the literature was not identifiable on arrival (and the courtyard is in any case hard to access, because of the camber/ slope/ blind angles. It would be better to explain in advance that the long-stay car park ca10minutes’ walk away is easy and the courtyard needs care.

    Dear Zoe Thank you for your feedback. I have replaced the garage sign which was painted over week before. I will change the description re garage to indicate the courtyard is a sharp turn and steep camber so those with larger vehicles or less confident drivers may wish to use the long stay carpark nearby. I will also add into details that the clothes airer is in the boiler cupboard although limited laundry can be hung on it. Safe travels in future Mark Property Owner

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
