  • "Lovely cottage in great location."

Hot tub lovely and clean - could maybe benefit from being under cover . Cottage was really comfortable and warm. Games room was a nice extra however felt quite damp and items quite worn Overall we had a lovely short break and made memories with our children

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at The Stable."

The owners were so welcoming, kind and helpful (even with our extremely late arrival). The accommodation was lovely and really nice quality. We spent hours in both the games room and hot tub…. Both an amazing addition. The laundry room was very helpful if you have a football mad youngster with you (who absolutely loved the goal and mini football pitch out the back). This accommodation really had so many added extras for us that it made it our best holiday to date…. That coupled with the incredible local beauty, breath taking scenery and abundance of wildlife. We were in our element. Hope we can visit again soon.

The owners have created a home from home with lots of facilities to take advantage of, such as the games room and pretty woodland walks on site. The Stable is well situated for exploring all that Wales has to offer, including the many wonderful beaches. We loved relaxing in the hot tub in the evening, which was the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of exploring. Our break was wonderful and we look forward to returning. Missing the scenery already.!

We have just come back from a lovely week away with walks on the doorstep. It’s the most dog friendly holiday we have been on which made it so much better. The hot tub and garden were amazing for the kids and the dog. The cottage has all the basics but bring anything else such as oil, salt, pepper which you may not have thought of like us. I found the bed very comfortable. We had one technical issue which was fixed straight away when we text the owners. We loved the games room and the selection of books and DVDs, it felt like we were going to Blockbusters every night. Thank you!

  • "The property was very nice, pretty much exactly as advertised, with maybe a couple exceptions (not being anything to do with the aesthetic of the property) the kitchen could have done with a couple more basic essentials, instructions say bring tea towels which we brought along with couple of additions for making our own food but then had to go shopping for tin foil/salt/pepper and oven gloves."

(This wasn’t a massive issue as we were going into a nearby town next day for a walk). We also had to buy toilet roll as there was only half a roll in the bathroom not really enough for a couple over a long weekend (at least one more would have been ideal). On the plus side, they had said that towels for the hot tub were not provided but we had two towels each which was nice even though we had brought our own. There could have been a little more contact with our hosts, (though I guess as we’re on holiday they just wanna stay out of our way?). We weren’t greeted on arrival but we did get there for about 7pm so that’s understandable. Though a hello the next morning wouldn’t have gone amiss. Especially since there was a power cut and we had no idea who to go see about it and knocked on a couple of other doors before finding where the hosts lived. The power cut happened about 9:30, as we couldn’t find our hosts we went about our day hoping power would come back on in the day and the stuff in the fridge/freezer would be safe this wasn’t the case so when we returned about 5/6pm I went looking for them. (If there hadn’t have been a power cut this wouldn’t have been an issue but we did feel someone could have knocked our door or left a note or some kind of communication). As far as facilities go everything else was on point except for the fact that the internet wasn’t very fast (again not really an issue as there was a cornucopia of dvds in the games room across from the cottage) again a note about this would have meant we’d have prepared by downloading things before arrival for our evening entertainment. (There’s only so much hot tubbing one can do of an evening

The enclosed garden for my dog was great so she could have a good run round. The games room was a nice addition. There are a few things which would have made it 100% - a tea towel, oven gloves, kitchen sponge, ignition to work on BBQ, a mirror in downstairs hall as that was the only place I could plug in straighteners.

Stunning views out on to the Welsh countryside. The road to the cottage was very bumpy, so not suitable if you have a lowered vehicle. But it’s worth it for the remote location. That said you are only 10mins drive into the beautiful Aberaeron. Cottage was well equipped with full kitchen. Floors & stairs were a little creaky but only as you’d expect from a cottage. The owners live on site and we’re very friendly when we bumped into them. The hotub was easy to use and situated perfectly to allow you to take in the views. If you are visiting in the colder months, don’t worry about being cold as the heating system was amazing, with rooms heating up almost instantly! The shower was very powerful and lovely & hot. The garden was fully enclosed so perfect for our dog. If you like craft beer make sure you check out Y Bryn - a brewery pub about 20mins drive from the cottage. Well worth the trip.

The owners were really friendly and made us very welcome. The pros -The location is stunning. The views from your hot tub and garden are just beautiful. Rolling hills and cows coming right up to the garden fence. There are lovely walks right from the doorstep - The owners invited us to watch the cows being milked and meet their newborn calves. The children loved this and the owners spent lots of time with us and made it a great experience. -the hot tub is a fab addition. It was clean and the owners checked the water every morning. Views from hot tub are awesome. -the shared playground was great for our children. Very safe and they loved it. - our umbrella broke and they got us a new one straight away. We also expected a gas bbq but it was a coal one. They swapped it for us straight away! A few little improvements -Check in 3pm. We arrived at 4pm but was told cottage would not be ready until 5pm due to extra cleaning. Totally understand this but 5pm is too late and Sykes should have contacted us to make us aware. - the living room and kitchen is on first floor and it was difficult keeping our toddler away from the stairs. We put the sofa in front of it but a stair gate would have been a big help. -one of the lights in the kitchen was broken and there was another little light wired up strangely. Assuming their is an electrical issue with the light. It was a little dark in there so a big lamp is needed. -the games room isn’t great. It’s very old and needs a revamp. With a little work it could be a great addition. Overall would definitely recommend!!

For example, there were no wine glasses, although these were provided when requested. The tin opener didn’t work properly, the knives weren’t sharp.... The property meets all the basic requirements to get the stars awarded but I felt this had been achieved in the cheapest way possible and the rental cost did not reflect this. Also on our last night the property next door were partying noisily until 4am - our kids went the the games room at 9am and there were open vodka bottles, full ashtrays, cigarette packets with lighters and it had been left in such a state that they couldn’t use it.
