the welcome hamper was a really nice touch. The bed rooms were clean and bright with really comfortable beds and lovely bed linen. The bath is long and deep... relaxing after a morning dip in the cold sea Easy access to beach, shops and cafes. We had great weather for March and got up early to see the stunning sunrise over the sea, the dogs loved it. The wood burning stove was great for the chilly evenings.

  • "The owner had really thought about what guests would need during a stay so the house was really well provisioned."

In addition she was in contact and it was reassuring to know that she was nearby if any problems had occurred. The house was small but there was excellent use of the space available and really thoughtful storage solutions in all rooms. The house was spotless, the welcome pack much appreciated and we felt cosy and comfortable as the evenings drew in. We hope to return.

  • "The cottage is well equipped and within a short walk to the supermarket and other amenities."

Parking outside the cottage is a little tight but there is the option to park on the co op car park a short distance away. The beach is within a 10 - 15 minute walk and is lovely. Marske is ideal for visiting the North Yorkshire coastline, places such as Staithes and Whitby Bay.

  • "The cottage is in a great location with a super small town that contains all requirements without the commercial outlets of resorts."

I have only marked the property down for 2 reasons, the main one being the lack of a downstairs bathroom for a toilet and washbasin that would fit in an under stairs space. There isn’t any suitable space for an outside sitting area that would have been appreciated. The welcoming gifts were very generous and like all fittings, furniture, appliances in fact everything in the house was of the best quality.

It was handy for the sandy beach, supermarkets and cafes/restaurants/pubs. We found the beds really comfortable and we loved the pillows and quilts. The towels were large and very soft. Everything in the cottage was good quality. Perfect!

  • "Benjamin Cottage was in a great location, central to everything in Marske and the surrounding area."

Parking was a bit tricky- a narrow street with cars parked on both sides. However, that did not detract from the lovely house. Clean, lovely decor, comfortable. Everything had been provided, and a lovely welcome gift awaited our arrival. Such a lovely touch. We had a great week, enjoying the local places to eat and drink, the fabulous beach and a great walk along the beach to Salburn. Marske is such a friendly place. We'll definately be back

  • "An exceptionally clean, (most important at the moment due to Covid 19) well equipped cottage, all appliances, crockery, towels and bed linen were of a high quality."

A very welcoming, homely feel has been created plus a welcome pack made us feel very spoilt. Although in the center of the village near to all amenities it was quiet and peaceful and only a 10min. walk to the beach, which is amazing. We enjoyed our stay at Benjamin cottage and will hope to return in the future.

  • "Marske itself is absolutely lovely, unspoilt, extremely friendly and generous locals who smile and say hello and stop for a chat."

Several shops Inc co-op and sainsburies in v short walking distance and several bars and restaurants far enough down the road not to cause noise. Some stunning walks if fit, along beach to Redcar or Saltburn or to Errington woods but all within a few minutes drive if less active. Benjamin cottage is beautiful, much nicer presentation than most dog friendly places I have used and just about everything you need to self cater. Great bath and shower, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher and all utensils you might need inc good quality pans. Absolutely spotless when we arrived, very good value for money. If you do have a dog the back yard area is shared and not secure so to be aware but that wasn't a problem for us, my dog and my friend and I were out walking several times a day rain or shine.

The only downside of the place is a very bad parking outside of the property plus description mentioned - garden. No garden there just a yard behind the house. I would be definitely going back as place is spotless clean and very comfortable.

Also some more kitchen utensils/ bowls. More cutlery, large bowls, gravy boat, garlic crusher. Also a lamp in the front room. Oven gloves with two hands. Mat at back door should be bigger as the kitchen floor gets dirty quickly especially when wet.

I would recommend this property to anyone and I have to say, we will certainly be hiring this one again as its a stone throw away from my best mates house, so a perfect place to stay and also a perfect location. May I suggest one thing, the Netflix Accounts on the TVs upstairs did not work, as the TVs I dont think were connected to the Internet, please dont take this as a downer to this Holiday Cottage as Myself and my Wife have been alot of places and rented alot of cottages and Benjamin Cottage is at the Top of the List for us by far. Again, thank you so much and we will be booking again very soon Regards P,T & Dotty

Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with everything you could need for a fantastic holiday. The outdoor sitting area although not enclosed was very pleasant to sit out at on an evening with a glass of wine and catch the early evening sun. Marske is a fabulous village; dog walkers heaven and the beach is one of the nicest we have ever visited. Lots of little coffee shops and micro bars just a minutes walk from the cottage. Rachael was the perfect host; very friendly and helpful. We have stayed in lots of cottages over the years and this is our new favourite. Can’t recommend highly enough. 10/10.
