  • "The property was lovely, very well stocked with all the equipment you’d need for your stay."

The site itself was beautifully maintained and the staff in reception were incredibly friendly. The position of the accommodation on the lake was perfect. There were a few things which let the holiday down. The bed in the main bedroom was incredibly creaky and the mattress was very thin, making sleep uncomfortable. There was a strong smell in the hallway of mould and the hot tub was left with the tap running by the hot tub guys while we were out meaning it overflowed and was too deep for our children to use. It was still a lovely place to stay and I would recommend the property.

Dear Sam, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your holiday with us. We are sorry to hear you experienced some issues during your stay, but glad to hear you found the site well maintained and the staff welcoming. We have passed on your feedback and hope to welcome you back soon. Kind regards, Gemma - Guest Services, Charteroak. Property Owner

  • "We loved being by the water & the views and surroundings were lovely."

Our dog had a great time too which is important to us as she is a rescue and always comes on holidays. I would have appreciated hooks on the doors for towels and unfortunately the mattress on my side had sharp bits protruding through which was uncomfortable. Also with the hot tub outside the main bedroom, it was very noisy and repeatedly woke us up. However we love Stonerush Lakes and will return but will book a different lodge. Thank you.

Thank you so much for leaving us your thoughts after your stay at 10 Water's Edge, Georgina, we really do appreciate your time. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and loved the position of your lodge and the beautiful grounds here. Thank you so much for your suggestion of door hooks and also for letting us know about the mattress, this has now been replaced. We look forward to being able to welcome you back very soon! • "We had a lovely stay at ‘The Retreat’."

Everything was immaculate on our arrival. You couldn’t get a more peaceful setting. The first morning in the hot tub a Kingfisher flew past. Wow! And we received frequent visits from a Grey Heron too. The lodge itself was beautifully equipped and the decor was restful. We had everything we needed. Money well spent on a few days away from the real world.

Dear Helen, we are so thrilled you loved your stay here and that you got see see our resident heron and elusive Kingfisher! We hope you will be back to visit us very soon. Kind regards, Gemma - Guest Services, Charter Oak Property Owner

  • "A wonderful place to stay and relax , Close to a lovely lake full of ducks ."

I will definitely come again . Just a few problems with the lodge the main door was hard to close, and behind the bedroom television was a lot of dust and spiders but I suppose that’s to be expected by a cabin by a lake … overall a great place to be … thanks

Thank you Gregg for your feedback, I am so pleased to hear you had such a lovely time staying with us. The position of Waters Edge 10 is truly fantastic and it is amazing to hear you were able to see our wildlife! We really do hope to be able to welcome you back to stay with us again in the future. LANREATH

Pelynt 2 miles; Looe 5 miles; Polperro 6 miles.

Lanreath is a village in southeast Cornwall, five miles west of Looe. Lanreath is rural in character with a local shop and Post Office as well as a parish church. There are a number of ghost stories associated with Lanreath. The best-known features a ghost in black driving a coach pulled by a headless horse. Nearby Pelynt is home to a parish church, a number of local shops and pubs, especially the Jubilee Inn, which was an original farmhouse dating back to the 16th Century. Looe is Cornwall’s second largest fishing port and hence there is always a lively maritime bustle around the quay area of East Looe, which is connected to the quieter West Looe by a seven arched 19th century bridge over the River Looe. The sandy Looe beach adjoins the pier and is very popular with families because of its safe shallow swimming and vast expanse of sand. Polperro is a little further away and is a historic fishing village nestling at the head of a long valley leading down to the sea. With plenty of areas to visit, Lanreath is a quiet, pleasant place offering easy access to the coast, the moors, National Trust properties and Cornwall's famous gardens.
