2. Rhosneigr Beach
This popular beach, split into Traeth Crigyll and Traeth Llydan, was crowned the winner of the Green Coast Seaside Award and lies on the western shores of Anglesey. It is undoubtedly our choice for having the best water-sports available. The waves are a firm favourite with surfers, flocking from all over the country to catch the remarkable ripples in ideal conditions. Have no fear if you are not the most experienced surfer, however, as there is a fantastic school on the beachfront, providing lessons for students at all levels. Other exciting activities for watersport enthusiasts include kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. Have fun and stay safe in this friendly and thrilling environment.
3. Lligwy Beach
A holiday would not be the same without your four-legged friends and whilst there are a total of 30 beaches in Anglesey that welcome your pooches, we have selected the lovely Lligwy Beach as our favourite dog-friendly beach. The vast stretch of golden sand on this wide and open beach make it the ideal destination for running along and getting those tails wagging. Backed by low sand dunes, which are great fun for playing in, the beach contains a little local café serving all your favourite seaside grub and offers plenty of doggy bags to ensure you leave no mess behind.

Located a little off the beaten track, Rhoscolyn Beach is one of the finest fishing spots in the whole of Anglesey. Either position yourself off the rocks or on a boat travelling out to sea and you will discover all the usual catches including pollock, rays, tope and mackerel. Get the little ones involved as well by carefully exploring the rock pools surrounding the bay, which are a great spot for prawning.
7. Church Bay
Our last but no means least favourite beach is the wonderfully secluded and unspoilt Church Bay. This delightful hidden gem really captures the naturally beautiful essence of Anglesey and has high rural cliffs surrounding the pretty bay below. Keep an eye out for the renowned 6 o’clock waves, where an excited gang of surfers descended on the beach to catch some of the impressive swells. Relax on the beach or spectate from afar and enjoy some of the locally caught produce in the friendly lobster joint, located beachside. This bay has to be amongst the most wonderful beaches in the UK.
