The property

Llanrug 1 mile.

Just one mile from the Welsh village of Llanrug, with local pubs, shops and an award-winning butcher, this attractive detached cottage is also within easy reach of the popular town of Llanberis.

This lovely country cottage enjoys a rural location near the picturesque River Rhythallt, with elevated views across the valley towards Snowdon.

Enter the cosy sitting room, where you are welcomed by an open fire and two doors leading off to a ground floor double bedroom and a single bedroom, and from the hallway there are steep steps leading up to a further single bedroom.

The ground floor bathroom is well presented, with a bath and a shower, while two steps lead into the kitchen, with its social dining space, and on to a small handy boot/drying room.

Outside, the gardens offer the opportunity to sit and take in the tranquillity of the area and the stunning views, with access to the adjoining grazing field available if required.

Outbuildings provide storage for bikes and other equipment and a footpath passes the front of the drive, leading down to the river and into Llanberis, which is about an hour’s walk away.

If you prefer, why not jump on the narrow gauge steam railway that runs the length of Llyn Padarn and enjoy a five-mile return trip instead?

The village of Llanberis offers numerous shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as Electric Mountain and watersports on the lake.

About the location

Llanberis 2 miles; Caernarfon 4 miles; Betws-y-Coed 15 miles.

Llanrug is a small village with two pubs, two shops, a Post Office, a hotel with indoor swimming pool and fitness room, and a 9 hole golf course is nearby. The village is situated in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain Range, only 3 miles from famous Llanberis. Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. Llanberis is something of a 'mecca' for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdonia Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Llanberis boasts excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 4 miles from Llanrug, on the coast, is Caernarfon with its magnificent 13th century castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd and many wonderful beaches.
