  • "The Lodge is a fantastic base to explore the area on foot or by car."

The Lodge itself is beautiful, clean and with all home comforts.

  • "This property is spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable."

It has a lovely walk in shower, a big bed and comfortable sofas with a large television. We were very impressed with the gorgeous hamper left for us containing butter, bread, lemon drizzle cake and butter amongst other things. In the shower were full products for us to use which were a lovely touch. The only drawback to this property was the garden was not fully enclosed. It had a fence surrounding it but unfortunately it had large gaps and our young dog went underneath and charged across the field. We got her back and she was on a long lead in the garden after that! Otherwise we would highly recommend this property.

  • "Fabulous place to stay."

Unfortunately garden is not secure for dogs as they can get under large gate at side to main road. Location is good and lovely and quiet. Comfortable stay and great walks near by. Would recommend but if staying with dogs there needs to be some sort of chicken wire or similar so they cannot get out.

The Lodge offered a spacious living area which was welcoming and very comfortable. The choice of sleeping quarters was good for different groups ie a single person and a couple. The hamper was a lovely treat especially the eggs and butter which were delicious.- Barbara (egg collector)

  • "A truly stunning cottage."

Had a wonderful weeks stay with my two Border Terriers. The cottage was beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need. The welcome hamper and the complimentary Body Shop Toiletries were a lovely gesture. My Two little dogs enjoyed exploring the garden and the lovely walks on the door step. The cottage is situated in a great position for visiting the surrounding area. It is only a short walk away from a beautiful country pub "The Wagon & Horses" serving amazing food. The owners could not have been more helpful. I had friends in the area in their camper van and the owners allowed them to park up on the drive at the cottage for a few days. Had a brilliant time. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Many Thanks June Bannon

Over and above other cottage experiences in terms of ensuring cottage is equipped and has cleaning products and provisions. Huge, comfortable bed! Garden great for dogs and Lodge practical for dogs and genuinely dog friendly. Welcoming owners. Perfect.

The Lodge itself was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and equipped with everything that you might need. The whole lodge had a luxurious feel to it and was light and airy. This was our first holiday after lockdown, the weather was hot and we loved spending time in the garden and walking in the local area. We visited lots of the local historic sights and found the surrounding area really interesting.

Excellent taste in decor and the welcome hamper was exceptional. The Christmas decorations made for a lovely surprise and made our time away complete. Little touches like the up to date magazines and a selection of games and videos along with an ample supply of cleaning supplies and toiletries made this one of the best holiday homes we’ve stayed in.

It was comfortable and well equipped. It was a pleasant change to have an adequately equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery, pots and pans and utensils. Everything was of good quality. The lovely welcome hamper and the complementary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were the icing on the cake. Set in a lovely part of the country with plenty to do and see without travelling miles. The property is comfortable and private. The only slight downside being road noise. However, as it’s rural, there’s also the joy of owls hooting. A lovely place to stay and some very nice personal touches too such as flowers and a hamper. Definitely worth it! Would recommend!

  • "Though the exterior of the property looks unusual, this is an exceptional holiday home."

Newly converted from an old forge, it is finished to a high standard with everything you could want. The owner has obviously taken a pride in providing furnishings and fixtures of quality. The owner is very pleasant and most helpful, providing a marvellous hamper of local produce for our arrival. There is a wonderful shower and a huge comfortable bed, though we did not use the mezzanine bed. Despite being only a short distance from the main road, it is soundproofed and insulated so well that you are assured of a peaceful, quiet and private stay. Ample parking for cars, and secure, gated access makes for a stress free holiday. There is a long, grassed, enclosed garden perfect for dogs and you can walk out of the back door for a lovely 20 minute .walk across paths through the countryside to Avebury. We enjoyed a marvellously relaxed stay with, for once, no criticism of any aspect of the accommodation and would love to return.
