The property

Settled in the townland of Doonbredia in County Mayo, not far from Lough Conn and resting in the shadow of Nephin mountain is this wonderful renovated dwelling, Nephinbeg Lodge.

Offering single-storey accommodation for up to six guests, this detached cottage is perfect for guests seeking excellent walking and fishing opportunities.

Be welcomed into a bright and spacious kitchen/diner, with a fitted kitchen area complete with a gas hob and electric oven, and a dining table to gather around at mealtimes.

After a busy day of adventures, retreat to the sitting room where an electric fire awaits you adding a warming ambience to the room whilst you relax on the sofa or armchairs while the TV plays a film.

A contemporary shower room will allow you to freshen up before or after the day's activities with a heated towel rail to keep you toasty.

Settle down in one of the three delightful bedrooms, choosing from the master king-size, a double and finally a single with a trundle bed beneath, each as tastefully decorated as the other.

Enjoy sitting outside on the outdoor seating within the spacious gravelled area overlooking a luscious green field, a perfect spot to end the day.

The cottage rests near to the beautiful and majestic Nephin mountain, a conical shaped quartzite mountain offering views over Lough Conn and the surrounding countryside from the summit, with several different routes to the top.

The nearest village with shops and pubs is Lahardane, resting closer to Lough Conn and home to a supermarket and local bar, perfect for picking up essentials and enjoying a refreshing drink at the end of the day, whilst the town of Crossmolina is just under five miles away, host to a wider array of amenities including restaurants and takeaways too!

Keen anglers will surely be excited to venture over to the waters of Lough Conn for its world-renowned salmon and trout fishing, with watersporting opportunities here too from kayaking and canoeing to stand-up paddle boarding.

Visit the town of Ballina to explore the Ruins of Augustinian Abbey or enjoy a day trip up to the beautiful Enniscrone Beach.

Famous for its warm welcome and the hospitality of the locals, the town of Ballina, County Mayo, is perhaps best known for its location, resting as it is on the River Moy. The area is a haven for fishing enthusiasts, with the internationally-recognised River Moy known as one of the best salmon fishing areas in Europe, producing several thousand salmon annually, while the nearby Lough Conn is also home to salmon and brown trout when in season. There is a rich variety of pubs, shops and restaurants available in the town and a number of historic attractions draw thousands of visitors each year, including the impressive St Muredach's Cathedral which stands imposingly on the banks of the river, plus the Céide Fields, which is the most extensive stone age monument in the world is nearby.
