The property

Uig 6 miles.

A wonderful, architecturally designed detached cottage on a pretty hillside allowing for lovely open views to the surrounding hills and countryside, six miles from the village of Uig, on the Isle of Skye.

This stylish and well-equipped property is ideal for a family or group of friends who want to explore the magical Isle of Skye.

The cottage is nicely proportioned over two floors with the first floor providing that extra bit of space with a games room offering a pool table, football table and a TV.

At ground floor level, the sitting room is both tasteful and comfortable and the woodburner makes for cosy nights in.

The well-equipped kitchen/dining room ensures that meals can be prepared and enjoyed with ease and the bedrooms are both spacious and smart.

The nearest village of Uig is a short drive north and offers excellent local facilities for both shopping and dining out.

Portree, the Island's capital town is some 11 miles to the south and offers enhanced facilities with a choice of lively pubs and good food.

Skye is perfect for touring and from this cottage it is wonderful to drive around the northern tip of the island following its beautiful and rugged coastline.

For walkers the Trotternish Ridge offers extraordinary walking and wildlife spotting, and this is where eagles really do soar overhead.

The island has so much to offer visitors with its history, castles and stunning scenery.

This delightful cottage ensures an excellent holiday.

About the location

Portree 14 miles.

The village of Uig (pronounced "oo-ig"), at the northern tip of Skye, rests on the shores of Loch Snizort, Skye’s largest sea loch off the Atlantic. The village boasts two pubs, two shops, a hotel, a filling station and cafe, as well as two other businesses well-worth a visit. Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. Sheltered by high ballistic cliffs, the bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye, and is home to the ferry crossing to the Western Isles. Wildlife in the area includes golden eagles, sea eagles, pilot whales, seals and dolphins. The attractions of the Isle, including the main town of Portree, are all within easy reach of this tranquil base.
