Criccieth is a delightful seaside town on the Llyn Peninsula, blessed with a south facing, sunny aspect across Cardigan Bay. This naturally sheltered location, combined with a special micro-climate, brings visitors year round.

The resort is somewhat split by Criccieth Castle, casting a magical glow as it rises up from a rocky outcrop. To the east, a long esplanade lines the main sand and shingle beach, with cafés at either end, while the western beach is overall quieter.

Relaxing days take various forms. Catching some rays down on the sands, building castles or hunting shrimps. Learning how to windsurf or catching mackerel. Exploring the Coastal Path over to Black Rock Sands; or along to Llanystumdwy, home to the Lloyd George Museum. Walking up the short, steep path to Criccieth Castle - the views are superb! The exhibition centre at the main entrance is worth investigating too, as is the local Heritage Trail.

What else? There's an 18-hole golf course with amazing sea and mountain vistas, as well as a number of attractions within walking distance - a pony trekking centre, fishing lake and the Plas Talhenbont Hall Wildlife Park.

Most of our Criccieth cottage holidaymakers do a spot of self-catering and there's no shortage of shops, including a local butcher's and deli. When you fancy a night off, there are restaurants and takeaways - not forgetting an award-winning ice-cream parlour and coffee house, open 'til late evening in summer with weekly jazz nights.

So, whether it's a short winter break or a long stay in summer, our Criccieth cottages deserve a look.
