Just show me Leominster Cottages
Where England meets Wales, the Marches is a wonderfully unspoilt region and our Leominster cottages make ideal getaways for quiet relaxation or outdoor adventure.
Dating from the 7th Century, Leominster brims with architectural delights. Once a monastery, the ancient Priory Church features a magnificent 'Perpendicular' west window and an old ducking stool. There's the intricate décor of Grange Court, carved by royal carpenter John Abel. Dutton House, a Tudor residence with a Gothic exterior and the black-and-white Chequers Inn, a favourite watering hole. The Forbury, Hester Clark's Almshouses, Lion House, Old Priory Hospital, School Lane - all worth a mention.
It seems appropriate that Leominster has a passion for showcasing antiques and there are regular auctions in the Fine Art sales rooms, as well as shops, galleries and markets. Friday brings locals and visitors alike to Corn Square for the weekly street market, while there's a farmers' market twice a month - great for sampling regional produce. And there are lots of places to eat and drink, including Italian restaurants, traditional pubs and takeaways.
