If you are travelling from London/the East by car, take the M25 and then the M1, before heading on to the A619 into Bakewell. From the Derby area (South) or Buxton (West), take the A6.

Travel to Bakewell by train

Travel across the country by rail to nearby towns and cities, then onwards by bus to Bakewell. East Midlands Trains run from Nottingham to Matlock or Northern Rail have daily services between Manchester Piccadilly and Buxton.

Travel to Bakewell by bus

Peak District towns and villages are well connected by bus, and there are a number of options to reach Bakewell. Service 218 from Sheffield to Chatsworth stops off in Bakewell, and the Trans-Peak service which starts/finishes in Derby and Manchester also pauses to take in Bakewell along its historic route.
