Being one of the top tourist destinations in the UK, the Isle of Wight has an array of attractions to visit and things to do throughout the year.

There are plenty of attractions and activities on the Isle of Wight for all ages to enjoy, ranging from heritage sites and outdoor adventure parks, to relaxing spa days at West Bay Club.

The island is well known for its historical monuments, including Queen Victoria’s palatial holiday home Osborne House, located near the seaport of Cowes, and Carisbrooke Castle near Newport, which was used as a political prison during the Civil War and even held King Charles I prior to his execution.

Popular attractions on the Isle of Wight for animal lovers would be the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary situated near seaside resort Ventnor, and Newport’s Monkey Haven, a primate rescue centre that houses owls, reptiles and meerkats as well as numerous species of monkey.
