The Chester City Walls are the longest, oldest, and most complete in Britain, with parts dating back almost 2000 years.
The full circuit of Chester’s ancient defensive walls is the only one remaining in Britain. As you walk the entire circle, you’ll be able to see amazing views down into Chester’s historic heart and gain a wealth of information about the city.
Northgate, Eastgate, Watergate, and Bridgegate are the four main gateways, and there are many steps throughout the city, some with accessible ramps.
