Deep Sea World, Edinburgh

Deep Sea World is situated on the outskirts of Edinburgh in North Queensferry. Founded in 1993, Deep Sea World has been conserving animals and attracting visitors for years.

The aquarium is suitable for all ages, offering four baby changing facilities. It’s also wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly, with ramps peppered throughout.; ideal for multi-generational outings!

A range of fascinating exhibits can also be found in Deep Sea World, from the charming Seal Harbour, and Temple of Frogs to the Underwater Tunnel. There’s even an exhibit dedicated to Scotland’s very own seawater creatures.

There are so many animals waiting for you to discover during a visit. The most renowned animal is Godzilla, the alligator snapping turtle who is often described as the ‘dinosaur of the turtle world’. You can find him at the Temple of Frogs, but remember: don’t smile at him!

As well as exhibits, the aquarium is home to thrilling shark experiences. They’re catered to all ages and involve diving into the tank and swimming amongst sharks.

On top of this, you can watch live feeding sessions, featuring seahorses and seals. And if you want to tuck into something yourself, you can savour a treat at The Bridge Cafe.
