Dunstanburgh Castle

Northumberland’s sea-battered coast is home to Dunstanburgh Castle which was built by Thomas, 2nd Earl of Lancaster, in 1313.

Things to do at Dunstanburgh Castle

Those who enjoy nature and wildlife will not be dissatisfied. Birds, dolphins, and whales may all be around Dunstanborough. As a result, be sure to keep an eye out and bring your camera!

Enjoy fantastic views of the castle from any vantage point. The gatehouse, with its twin towers, is the most interesting part of the fortress. In spite of its decrepit state, it serves as a reminder of the towers’ size in the past. In addition, the stairwells and numerous floors of the structures remain visible.

If you believe the Dunstanburgh ghost story, there is a secret hidden room someplace near or inside the gatehouse that is just waiting to be unearthed.
