Durdle Door is a popular walk leading from Lulworth Cove along the South West Coast Path to view this iconic landmark.

Choose to wander the South West Coast path at a leisurely pace, take in the views and stop off at Durdle Door Beach before returning to the car park.

This is an easy stroll allowing you to take in the natural wonders of Dorset and enjoy the fresh coastal air. 

Be sure to pack sun cream and a hat on sunny days as this route is exposed, and always make sure you have enough water with you.

Directions

  1. From the car park at Lulworth Cove, meander through the wooden gate and take the path over the hill. 
  2. Keep following the path over the crest of the hill until you see the smaller archway at Bat’s Head. 
  3. The path will begin to slope downwards, and the Durdle Door Caravan Park will be ahead of you to the right. 
  4. Follow the sign that says Durdle Door Coast Path. 
  5. The path will eventually reach a T-junction with a wooden fingerpost and from here you will see first glimpses of Durdle Door. 
  6. Pass through the gate here, turn left and continue the path down to Dorset’s most photographed landmark!
