Lakes Aquarium
Head to Lakes Aquarium at Lakeside pier and take in over 30 displays showcasing the secret life of wildlife and freshwater creatures.
Here you can see a mix of sea creatures such as seahorses, rays, and piranha at the seashore and discovery zones. You’ll also find gecko, golden poison dart frogs and leaf cutter ants in the rainforest zone.
Along the way, you’ll also encounter local wildlife in the journey below the Lake Windermere area where you can spot mirror carp, sterlet, and tufted duck amongst others. In the English Lake District zone, you’ll find the Eurasian minnow, the common toad, and harvest mice.
As well as getting close to the animals, you can enjoy one of the daily talks held at the aquarium giving you an insight into the fascinating lives of the inhabitants.
