Llyn Padarn

If you’re planning on visiting the Snowdonia National Park or heading to the National Slate Museum or Dinorwic Slate Quarry for the day, then be sure to catch a glimpse of Llyn Padarn.

Llyn Padarn is a glacially formed lake nestled amidst breath-taking mountain scenery and on the southern banks, you will find the village of Llanberis. Come here for a plethora of adventures, including hiking along the shores and paddleboarding or kayaking on the waters, all whilst admiring the view of Snowdon’s peak in the distance.

You can’t visit Llyn Padarn without snapping the famous, Lonely Tree. The Lonely Tree has become one of the most famous photography spots in Wales, giving a picturesque reflection on the water.

To explore further, choose one of the five walks in the Padarn Country Park. Such walks include woodland, lakeside and industrial heritage trails, all of which offer stunning scenery. Alternatively, admire the views whilst on a journey on the Llanberis Lake Railway, which runs along the Llyn Padarn’s northern bank.
