TSS Duke of Lancaster
The TSS Duke of Lancaster was first launched in 1955, having been built by Harland & Wolff – the shipyard behind the Titanic. The TSS Duke of Lancaster operated as a British Railways Steamer, taking passengers between Lancashire and Belfast in Northern Ireland.
It has also operated as a cruise ship and a car ferry. It was eventually decommissioned and turned into an arcade and bar in 1979 before closing for good in the 1980s.
You can view the ship at the water’s edge and imagine what life aboard this vessel would have been like back in its heyday.
