Ullswater Steamers

Take a scenic lake cruise on Ullswater with a company that have been cruising the area for 160 years. Ullswater Steamers and their heritage fleet will take you across this incredible lake and past some of the stunning sights that inspired the romantic poets.

You can start your cruise from one of four piers, allowing you to combine your trip with a walk. Pooley Bridge Pier is situated in the pretty Lakeland village of Pooley Bridge, dating back to the 16th century, this is a great place to start your journey if you’ve been visiting Lowther Castle.

Howtown Pier is based at the start of the famous lakeshore walk to Glenridding and the gateway to the Valley of Martindale. Glenridding Pier is based in a former mining village, close to the gateway to Helvellyn, England’s third-highest mountain.

The final pier is Aira Force, where you’ll find the Aira Force waterfall and paths to Pooley Bridge and Glenridding.

There are multiple departure and arrival times each day and dogs are welcome on board for a small fee, making it easy for you to organise a journey around your other plans.

A beautiful day on the water awaits at the Ullswater Steamers…
