Discover The Lake District

Discover The Lake District

This idyllic part of the country is the perfect place in which to get back to nature and lovers of the great outdoors have been drawn here for centuries to ramble and hike through the beautiful mountainous landscape. Climb upward through peaceful woodlands to admire the breath-taking views or take a cruise on the waters of the region’s many famous lakes.

With such inspirational scenery, it’s little wonder that the Lake District has so many literary connections. See if you can spot a ‘host of golden daffodils’ dancing in the lakeside breeze, like those described by the famous poet, William Wordsworth, whose name has become forever synonymous with the beauty of the area. You can also relive the charming tales of Peter Rabbit or Jemima Puddleduck with a visit to Hilltop, the home of legendary children’s author, Beatrix Potter.
