Café Mylor, Falmouth, South Cornwall

For man and beast, it doesn’t get much better than Café Mylor. This spacious, contemporary café is located just steps from Mylor Yacht Harbour, a scenic marina on the Fal Estuary. The café offers a wide selection of light bites and larger meals throughout the day, with dog biscuits and water bowls on hand for the clapped out canine. Café Mylor is perfectly located for dog walking along the Fal, and on Wednesday mornings, visitors can partake in a social, guided dog walk around the harbour.

With a wonderful cliff-top terrace offering dramatic vistas over Newquay Bay, the Ohana Beach Café is a must for beach-goers who have their pooch in tow. Ohana is derived from the Hawaiian term for “family”, so it’s little surprise the welcome here is always warm and friendly. Milkshakes, smoothies, iced coffees and frappes are just some of the refreshing beverages offered at Ohana, whilst hearty sandwiches and American-style pancakes head-up the café’s roster of delicious, locally sourced fare.

Snail’s Pace Café, Bodmin Moor & Tamar Valley

Located at the northern end of the Camel Trail – a 17 mile, traffic-free trail popular with walkers and cyclists – the Snail’s Pace Café is a wonderful café serving a range of homemade food and hot and cold drinks. The café welcomes any and all visitors to the area, as well as their four-legged companions, making it a great pit stop for those cycling or walking the Camel Trail. Snail’s Pace prides itself on its organic produce, much of which is grown on site, and is thought to be the UK’s only permanent “off-grid” café.

The eatery sits beside Bude Canal and benefits from a large outdoor seating area that’s perfect for alfresco lunching during the summer.
