Just Show Me Reeth Cottages
For a truly relaxing holiday amid beautifully unspoilt countryside, the lovely little village of Reeth nestles where Arkengarthdale and Swaledale meet.
Imagine a traditional village green lined with attractive stone houses, inviting pubs, cosy tearooms and ice-cream parlours, as well as galleries and workshops selling specialist art and crafts. From handcrafted furniture to decorative glass, browsing for a special keepsake is an absolute pleasure. There's a market every Friday and also the Swaledale Folk Museum, offering a fascinating insight into the region's past.
Book a Reeth cottage and explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park
Stretch those legs along the Coast to Coast Walk, brainchild of writer and hill walker, Alfred Wainwright. The route passes through Reeth and attracts walkers from near and far. Follow the 'Corpse Way', an ancient 16-mile coffin path. Or test your stamina and climb the fells of Lovely Seat, Addlebrough or Great Shunner, all promising fantastic views from the top.
If you're after a gentler, child-friendly option, head down to the Swing Bridge for leisurely strolls along the river, perhaps stopping off at the village playground. Families might also like to note the Reeth Show in August, a traditional agricultural event and great day out for all ages, with a wide variety of entertainment - judging livestock, vintage cars, delicious local produce and lots more.
Our Reeth cottages are also within a short drive of a number of attractive towns and interesting sights - Leyburn, Hawes, Barnard Castle and Richmond to name but a few.
