The property

Located in the small hamlet of Mawla, near the sandy beaches of Porthtowan, Portreath and St Agnes, is this stunning Cornish gem, Milliemook Cottage, is a fine example of traditional mixed with contemporary design.

Perfect for a family and pet owners due to its large enclosed garden or a group of friends looking for a private retreat, this property has many unique features to impress, and the location affords you easy access to other Cornish towns and visitor hot spots.

Beginning your journey through this rural treasure in the kitchen, you will find a sleek red-fitted kitchen complete with a large range cooker, and ample space for little helpers to join in the food prep so you can get all hands on deck.

Take the party into the wood floored dining room and serve up your home-cooked dish to the group at the table, with vibrant modern dining chairs that contrast well with the bespoke armchairs sitting either side of the open fire.

The conservatory turned sitting room is a breath of fresh air, turning a simple chill-out space into a chance to enjoy the outside space in any weather, especially with the addition of a wood burning stove, and in the warmer weather, open the doors onto the garden to let the breeze in.

Up a spiral staircase in the dining room lies the incredible master bedroom that ticks all the right boxes, with a large leather corner sofa facing the TV and wood burning stove for your own private space to unwind.

For a special moment of peace, head out onto the balcony with a cup of coffee first thing to watch the sunrise over the rolling hills and countryside, a memory you'll keep forever.

This amazing bedroom also has its own en-suite glass shower room which perfectly showcases this property's modern and innovative theme.

Back downstairs on the ground-floor there is a wet room with shower, basin and WC serving the other lovely bedroom that hosts two singles with the ability to join together to make a king-size.

A large enclosed lawn awaits outside on a sunny day, with a secret summerhouse with TV tucked at the back where you can retreat for some shade, or embrace the heat and sit in the hot tub on the decking with a cold drink for a taste of luxury.

This part of Cornwall can offer much in the way of variety for you, for example head up to St Agnes and you can have a go at kayaking with a 2-hour guided kayak adventure launching from the Trevaunance Cove, which is also good for surfing, swimming, and has excellent fishing in high tide.

Closer to home in Redruth you can get on The Great Flat Lode on a bike or on foot for a lovely journey along this historic trail that circles the iconic hilltop site of Carn Brea.
