Travel to Edinburgh by road

All of the routes up to Scotland offer stunning views of the countryside, or you can enjoy a leisurely drive along the Scottish Coast on the A1. The two main motorways from the South are the A1(M) and M6.

Whichever route you decide to take, we recommend using the AA Route Planner to plan your journey.

Make sure to check for travel updates and any possible delays before travelling on trafficscotland.org.
