Whitby Abbey, a ruined monastery overlooking the North Sea, holds many tales. The ruined abbey was made famous by Bram Stoker's Dracula, in 1897, where the beast resembling a large dog came ashore and ascended to climb the 199 steps leading up to the ruins.
