Wadebridge Cottages
Straddling the banks of the picturesque River Camel with an
elegant 17-arch bridge, the market town of Wadebridge is handy for
the coast and Bodmin Moor.
It's renowned as a centre for walking and also for arts and
crafts.
Wonderful walks near your Wadebridge cottage
Wadebridge is the gateway to the Camel Trail, a visitor hotspot
offering flat, easy walks along a former railway track beside the
River Camel. The route is eleven miles long and from Wadebridge you
can head west through glorious countryside to the seaside town of
Padstow, or inland through equally
inspiring landscapes to Bodmin.
And if you don't fancy walking, you can hire a bike locally and
cycle the route instead. Other popular walks include the South West
Coastal Path, Bodmin Moor and the Saints Way cross-country
path.
Renowned for their breathtaking beauty, the sweeping, sandy
beaches of north Cornwall are just a short drive from your
Wadebridge cottage. Try Polzeath for surfing or Rock for
sailing. You'll also find local riding stables, indoor go-karts
and golf.
Back in town, you'll find everything you need for a picnic
or evening meal, whether you fancy eating in or out. Also, a
variety of shops selling surf gear, stylish beachwear, toys, gifts
etc. Plus galleries and workshops showcasing local works of art,
including furniture, pottery and paintings.
Summertime brings the Wadebridge Folk Festival, attracting
musicians, singers and dancers from all corners of the globe. Not
forgetting the Royal Cornwall Show, a three-day extravaganza
featuring superb local produce, livestock judging, steam fair and
all sorts of other entertainment.
