Embark on the Cheddar Gorge Walking Path to see one of Britain's most amazing natural landmarks, with breath-taking cliffs as well as incredible caves, head into Gough's Cave to see a cave system stretching over two-kilometres, with exhibitions detailing the history of the landscape and its inhabitants.
Plenty more walking can be enjoyed in the Mendips, but if you're seeking rest and relaxation then head to the coast to the seaside village of Brean and enjoy sunbathing on the seven-mile stretch of sand backed by dunes, just a few miles from the popular town of Weston-super-Mare.
Brean has something for everyone, with watersports available, as well as there being a lovely energetic walk up Brean Down to find the 19th century fort, standing nearly 100 metres high over the sea, this headland commands stunning views of the area.
