Phillack Cottages
Sheltered from the sea by a high range of sand dunes called The
Towans, the historic village of Phillack is located on St. Ives Bay, just a mile from Hayle.
The Towans are particularly beautiful in spring and summer when
rolling carpets of wildflowers add vibrant colours to the otherwise
sandy landscape. And two buildings of note in the village are the
ancient church and rather gruesomely named pub - the Bucket of
Blood.
Attractions near our Phillack holiday rentals
Think wonderful coast and countryside walks along miles of
way-marked trails. Or hit the beach - three miles of golden sands
ideal for surfing, snorkelling and diving.
For shops, restaurants and other entertainment, it's just a
short drive to Hayle. Plan a visit to Paradise Park, an
award-winning wildlife sanctuary with everything from flamingos and
toucans to red pandas and red squirrels, plus a few farmyard
animals.
Time your stay in spring or autumn and join fellow enthusiasts
at Hayle Estuary (RSPB managed) when migratory birds flock to the
region.
Another place close to our holiday homes in Phillack is the
picturesque town of St. Ives. Don't miss a free guided tour of
The Tate and also of the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture
Garden. Nor a fresh-out-of-the-sea fish platter in one of the many
harbour-front eateries. Continue west along the coast to Land's
End and on still to the Minack Theatre and dazzling white sands of
Porthcurno. An alternative daytrip from our holiday cottages in
Phillack is St. Michael's Mount and the ever-popular resort of
Marazion .
