Please find below a selection of self catering holiday cottages to rent in Newtonmore, Scotland.

Escape from the crowds this year and holiday in a Newtonmore cottage at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.

This delightful Highland village offers a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere and every facility you might need during your stay - mini-markets, Post Office, souvenir shops and a variety of eating and drinking establishments serving home-cooked food, local ales and Speyside Highland Malts.

The location is hard to beat, nestling amidst a magnificent landscape of imposing mountains, picturesque glens, secluded lochs and ancient forests. And as you can imagine, this natural wonderland provides a fantastic backdrop for enjoying numerous activities.

Walking is the number one attraction, with direct access from the village to a good selection of low level routes and several of Scotland's highest mountains, known locally as Munros. Don't miss the 10km circular Wildcat Trail, which weaves through woods, over moors and alongside rivers. Or test your stamina on a full day's hike into the Monadhliath Mountains.

Other activities include fishing, mountain biking, bird watching, horse-riding and sailing on nearby Loch Insh.

For a change of pace, head for the banks of the River Spey to the local golf club, where immaculate fairways and challenging greens unfurl amid breathtaking scenery - a common distraction!

And when it's time to experience local culture, Newtonmore has its own folk museum offering an insight into times past; while the traditional pursuits of shinty, bagpipes and Highland games still rank high on today's list of local pastimes.

So, for a true taste of the Highlands, book a Newtonmore holiday cottage soon!
