“The location was lovely with the tidal Esk providing an ever changing view.”

It was great to be able to park which is a plus in Whitby. House is well equipped and great to have wifi.

It was great to be able to park which is a plus in Whitby. House is well equipped and great to have wifi. Won't miss the stairs which is however to be expected in a townhouse. They were a bit steep but they kept us fit! This is our 3rd stay in Whitby and this is our favourite so far.

The property

Whitby 1 mile.

An attractive, end-terrace mews property, situated in a small modern development on the banks of the River Esk, one mile from Whitby.

Overlooking the famous old railway viaduct, with superb river views, the location is perfect for families wanting to explore both the seaside towns and the surrounding spectacular scenery.

Set over three floors, entry is into the light and spacious kitchen, with an archway leading into the dining room, where there is additional comfy seating and TV.

From here, glass doors open onto a paved patio where you can sit and relax and spot the steam trains trundling by.

The sitting room is on the first floor and is comfortably furnished in a contemporary style, with a balcony leading off; ideal to sit with a glass of wine and watch the wildlife on the river.

With the three bedrooms offering flexible accommodation and off road parking for two cars, a rare find in Whitby, guests will not be disappointed.

This peaceful area is a haven for wildlife, with ducks, geese, seals and herons regular visitors to the river.

A twenty minute walk along the former railway track - known as the Cinder Track, brings you into the hustle and bustle of this atmospheric town, with its quaint narrow streets and ginnels and its cobbled market square.

Climb the 199 steps up to the Abbey ruins, or take an exhilarating walk along the cliff top Cleveland Way, with amazing views along the coastline.

The long sandy beaches are wonderful for children, with donkey rides, brightly painted beach huts and seaside stalls.

For something a little different, enjoy an evening ghost walk, or perhaps a whale watching trip out to sea.

There are pretty fishing villages to visit, including Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes, the spectacular North York Moors National Park to discover and many local attractions, making this cottage a superb base any time of the year.
